University Physician Associates seeks a full-time Physician Assistant for our Dermatology department facility at University Health in Kansas City, MO.  University Health is an academic teaching facility of the UMKC medical school.  Highlights include working in a brand new facility lead by an excellent Board Certified Dermatologist and support staff.  The clinic includes treatment of nearly all of the aspects of medical and surgical dermatology amid an environment of teaching and high quality patient care. University Physician Associates the academic group practice for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, and OB/GYN Department Chair Dev Maulik, MD, PhD, is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist at Assistant/Associate Professor level to work at Truman Medical Centers and Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

The Department provides tertiary level maternal fetal care in this region, and also participates in multidisciplinary integrated quaternary level perinatal care for high risk fetuses at the Fetal Health Center in collaboration with the Children's Mercy Hospital.

In addition to a busy residency program of 32 residents, the Department of OB/GYN has a fully accredited maternal-fetal medicine fellowship program and exciting opportunities for research and academic development. The Department is involved in perinatal clinical and translational research, and runs a molecular research laboratory. This position also provides excellent research opportunities to collaborate with the UMKC Department of Health and Bioinformatics as well as the Children's Mercy Fetal Health Center.

The ideal candidate should be maternal fetal medicine board certified or eligible, and would demonstrate expertise in advanced maternal fetal care, diagnostic ultrasonography, invasive fetal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, medical education and scholarly activities.

University Physician Associates (UPA) has a great opportunity for a (Medical) Coder to join our multi-specialty coding team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for abstracting and coding physician inpatient/outpatient diagnosis and procedural codes according to insurance company guidelines including Medicare and Medicaid.

As a private not-for-profit corporation we employ the medical staff faculty for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. REQUIREMENTS:

·       Physician coding experience 

·       Detailed knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding and payer documentation guidelines.

·       Capacity to apply policies, procedures and prior instructions to new situations.

·       Ability to work with minimal supervision and limited verification.

·       CPC credential preferred

·       Teaching Facility experience a plus

We have a great opportunity for a Patient Account Representative. Become a member of a multi-specialty patient accounts team. 

Essential Functions:

  • The position is responsible for an assigned portion of the Accounts Receivable and assisting in the Accounts Receivable Process. 
  • Individual will maintain an assigned portion of patient accounts receivable at an acceptable level at all times.
  • Responsible for collecting on patient balances, outstanding insurance balances, and credit balances as well as working reports and monitoring accounts sent to the collection agency. 
  • Assists in training new employees and developing daily processes and procedures. 

Requirements:

  • 2 Years of medical billing, appeals, and A/R experience preferred.
  • This person must be able to perform all functions within the billing cycle and accounts receivable process.
  • Working knowledge of payer specific requirements. (Medicare/ Medicaid/ Commercial/ Self Pay)
  • Knowledge of CPT Codes, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, on telephone and in person.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
